	Spring Registration

On-line registration is now open for all Salem residents through February 28th. Payments may be made with either Mastercard or Visa. Or, if you prefer to register the "old-school" way, remember that walk-in registrations are being held on the following dates at the Woodbury school:

Saturday, January 10th, 9:00am - 4:00pm
Saturday, January 17th, 9:00am - 4:00pm
Wednesday, January 21st, 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Saturday, January 24th, 9:00am - 4:00pm

	Salem Winter Workout

REMINDER: Salem Youth Baseball is proud to announce its 5th annual Winter Workout Program at Play Ball in Salem, NH. This ten-week program is designed for Little Leaguers aged six through thirteen. The program will run every Saturday, from January 10th to March 14th. The time will be from 3pm-4:30pm, and the cost is $95 per player.

To sign up you can call Play Ball at 898-0332, e-mail or go in person to Play Ball at 16 Industrial Way.

Last year's program was the best yet as the main staffing was handled by Play Ball's staff! The goal of the ten-week clinic is to provide our athletes the opportunity to learn and improve their skills in preparation for the upcoming spring season while having fun.

Here is the program's structure:

- Each week will begin with a "featured guest speaker" who will discuss a "topic of the week" (hitting, fielding, pitching, throwing, mental approach, sportsmanship, base running etc...). The guest list will include:

* Dean Borrelli (former 8-year pro player)

* Steve Pallazolo (current San Francisco Giants pitcher)

* Al Mottram (current pro player)

* Mike Chambers (current Boston Red Sox player)

* Various other high school and college coaches/players

- The ballplayers will run through various drill stations, working on the skills needed to become an effective baseball player.

- Play Ball's professional will run the majority of the program, insuring proper technique

	Purchasing a new bat?

If you are in the market for a new non-wood bat for your 6-12-year-old, please be aware of a new Little League rule that goes into effect in 2009:

"Beginning with the 2009 season, non-wood bats used in divisions of Little League (league age 12 years old and younger) shall be printed with a BPF (bat performance factor) of 1.15 or less."

The Exchange Section of the web site is now open. This service can be used to post information about used baseball equipment that is in working condition and you would like to sell. This area will also be used as an on-line lost and found where the posting can take place.

To access the exchange, click on the "Exchange" tab on the left on the home page of SYB. You can also see current itemd in the Exchange listed on the right side of the SYB home page.

Please note that the Exchange is a service for the membership of SYB and should only be used for listing your own used equipment. It is not to be used for non-baseball advertising by the SYB membership or by any outside companies with out the permission of the SYB Board of Directors.

Inappropriate listings and messages will be immediately removed.
